Position Description - Training Manager Warfighting Networks and Applications - The WNA capability will provide a single warfighting information environment that enables connected, coherent and co-ordinated employment of military effects independent of location, domain or partner. WNA delivers the IP based Joint Force C2 backbone to assure the Joint Force Commander's ability to transform battlespace information into synchronised effects. Our Vision: A single warfighting network, hosting the latest Situational Awareness, Command and Control and Targeting applications, through which Joint Force Commanders achieve and exercise Decision Superiority in any domain, with any partner. Our Mission: Deliver a survivable and resilient capability that supports warfighters in every location (fixed, mobile and deployed), iterating at the pace of user need, technological innovation, mission demand and enemy threat Warfighting Networks and Applications Support Organisation (WSO) The WNA capability will not be static. Development and support of the WNA capability needs to be agile, adaptive and responsive. A common whole-of-capability lifecycle support organisation is required that can generate warfighting networks and applications for their deployment, operation and sustainment. Establishment of a Development, Security and Operations (DevSecOps) organisation (the WNA Support Organisation (WSO)) within CIOG ensures that the WNA capability is constantly refreshed to respond to emergent operational requirements, maintaining a technical edge over adversaries. The Mission System needs to evolve at the pace of the mission need, user need, technological innovation, and threat. The Support System needs to be agile, adaptive and responsive to be able to securely generate and sustain the range of missions systems required to meet ADF operational priorities.

Training Manager Position: Training Manager SFIA Level Reference Guide - Skills Framework for the Information Age ETMG

Reports to: Support Services Manager

Position Description: This role will work within the area of the WSO, ICT Delivery Division, Chief Information Officer Group, Department of Defence. The Training Manager will be required to perform and/or have responsibility for duties including, but not limited to:

* Develop and implement the WNA Training Strategy;

* Lead the analysis, design, development and implementation of the WNA Training program;

* Provide advice and guidance to the WSO Senior Leadership Team;

* Plan, lead and manage Training Team human resources;

* Build and sustain relationships with multiple complex stakeholders in a rapidly changing environment;

* In consultation with the Support Service Manager, manage the forward plan of resources and training schedule;

* Be responsible for and have oversight of Training Team activities including the; o Analysis of user requirements and identification of training gap/need; o Design and development of training materials; o Integration of previous lessons learnt and continual improvement of the training package. Required Skills and Experience:

* Experience working within the Defence environment.

* A minimum of 5+ years of experience in learning;

* Familiar with the Systems Approach to Defence Learning (SADL) process;

* A high level of knowledge of the One Defence Capability Model in both Acquisition and Sustainment;

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

* Knowledge/experience in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)

* Knowledge/experience in ICT training development/facilitation Team Lead expected work arrangement

* Mostly Mon - Fri business hours (40 hour week). On occasion after-hours or weekend work may be required with prior negotiation.

* Ability to surge during major release periods.

* Canberra region to facilitate on site work, with remote work accepted.

* DSN access may be required.

Security Clearance:

* Have, or have the ability to obtain at least a Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) security clearance before commencement of work. ITAR

* The candidate will be required to comply with the US International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) as the candidate may need to handle export controlled ICT (hardware and software) products.
