Job Opportunity: EL1 Test Lead (12-Month Contract)

Location: WA, ACT, NT, TAS
Working Arrangements: Hybrid (Minimum 3 days in-office per week, flexible for remaining 2 days)
Estimated Start Date: Monday, 20 October 2025
Contract Duration: 12 months (with potential 12-month extension)
Security Clearance: Baseline
Citizenship Requirement: Australian citizens only



About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced EL1 Test Lead to join a major digital transformation program within a Federal Government agency. This role will support the delivery of innovative ICT solutions that improve services for Australians with disabilities.

As the Test Lead, you will work closely with the Test Manager and project teams to lead testing activities across Scheme Digital Platforms projects. You'll ensure testing is aligned with strategic objectives and quality standards, while managing delivery across internal and vendor teams.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage test delivery across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, cost, and quality targets.
  • Develop test plans, test cases, and supporting data from specifications.
  • Assign and manage execution of test cases across various testing stages.
  • Analyse and report on test activities and escalate risks or issues.
  • Manage defect triages and coordinate with business teams during UAT.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure timely and effective project implementation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives including test automation and process enhancements.
  • Maintain accurate records of time and effort for test activities.


Essential Criteria

  1. Proven experience leading testing activities for complex programs and producing Test Summary reports.
  2. Agile testing experience with accountability for sprint commitments and delivery.
  3. Extensive experience with test management tools including Jira Xray and Salesforce CRM.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage multiple project factors.
  5. Excellent teamwork skills across business units, vendors, and virtual teams.
  6. Demonstrated ability to foster innovation and build strong working relationships.


Desirable Criteria

  1. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  2. Experience working in large organisations on complex software deployments.
  3. Background in related technical fields such as application or database development.
  4. Enthusiasm for accessible design and development practices.
