Leading Government Client located in CBD is looking for a Project Manager for a 6 months contract + possible extension! APPLY NOW!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Live the NSW Public Sector and organisational values to achieve outstanding outcomes for the organisation and customers
  • Manage multiple, large, complex IT projects of critical strategic importance to the Sydney Metro business, adhering to the agreed Project Management Methodology
  • Develop and control project schedules and planning activities to ensure modules and programs are completed according to established project milestones and meet business requirements
  • Establish, manage, analyse and report on project budgets, issues, risks and schedules and recommend appropriate action to resolve any variances and to deliver project to meet base-lined time, budget and scope commitments
  • Complete and evaluate post project reviews to ensure adherence to IT change control procedures are adhered to
  • Mentor Sydney Metro IT employees on relevant project management methodologies to ensure a consistent, professional approach to all Sydney Metro IT projects.

Key Challenges:

  • Driving project deadlines and milestones to the required standards and targets, given the need to manage multiple projects of varying complexity and scope with a range of stakeholders
  • Supporting transformational change given the range of internal and external stakeholders, the potential resistance to change and the need for both structural and cultural change
  • Guiding business units to understand their role in benefits realisation from IT projects.

To be succesful for the role you must have:

  • Extensive project management experience of multiple, complex IT projects including controlling the planning and implementation of large IT projects and demonstrated ability to establish and adhere to strict project timeframes.
  • Proven experience in vendor evaluation and management.
  • Experience in full end to end solution delivery, including business change.

Essential requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or related area or relevant experience.
