The role will place you as a Senior System Analyst within the ecosystem. Systems Analyst Professionals design, create, evaluate, and document ICT solutions in new and existing systems. They may propose modifications to existing systems and processes, or design new systems to meet user needs as expressed in requirements documentation or user stories. Senior Systems Analysts are responsible for translating business needs into ICT system requirements and specifications for enhancements. This includes designing, analyzing, and documenting software systems to meet business expectations. They are also responsible for writing functional specifications from business requirements.
Senior Systems Analysts:

The role will involve gaining knowledge of the software development lifecycle, tools, services, deployment procedures, and cybersecurity policies, as well as industry best practices. You will work closely with Software Architects, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Developers, and Testers with the shared purpose of building simple, helpful, respectful, and transparent services.
Key duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Perform detailed analysis and evaluation of business processes and requirements.
- Create solution designs and implement solutions to meet business needs.
- Create and maintain solution documents.
- Support daily operations and monitor the performance of business solutions.
- Adhere to delivery and support methodologies and contribute ideas for improvement.
- Perform detailed technical application assessments considering feasibility, resource effort, risks, and benefits.
- Conduct testing activities such as test planning, execution, coverage reviews, and defect management.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define tasks, resolve issues, solve problems, and ensure effective and timely implementation of projects.
- Undertake project quality management tasks such as peer and quality reviews of specifications, design, and testing documents.
- Review research, process models, and documentation of other staff, providing guidance and feedback.
- Resolve or escalate issues as required and suggest alternative approaches and solutions.
- Perform cost analysis activities as required.
- Manage the lifecycle of changes and improvements to systems.
- Set priorities, manage resources, and assist with the development of work plans.
- Exercise delegations in line with legislation and guidelines as required.
Candidate Selection Criteria
Mandatory Criteria
- Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience as a System Analyst.
Weighted Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in analyzing requirements, conducting a gap analysis, and developing solutions.
- Demonstrated experience leading system analysis of custom-built ICT projects.
- Demonstrated strong communication skills, both in writing documentation and when writing code.
- Demonstrated experience as a System Analyst on a high-profile and complex ICT project.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the system development and documentation of ICT solutions.
- Demonstrated experience creating and interpreting models and diagrams such as UML, Use Cases, and BPMN.
- Demonstrated experience with system analysis techniques and the ability to apply them for the benefit of all project stakeholders.
- Experience within an Australian Federal Government setting.
- Demonstrated functional experience in SAP-based CRM systems.
