Senior Cyber Threat Analyst - APS6 Equivalent
Contract Role | 18-Month Initial Term + 18-Month Extension Option

Are you a seasoned intelligence or cyber security professional ready to make a meaningful impact in the public sector? We're seeking a Senior Cyber Threat Analyst to join a high-performing team within a Federal Government Agency, supporting national initiatives that make a real difference in the lives of Australians.
About the Role
As a Senior Cyber Threat Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Insider Threat and Assurance team. You'll work closely with senior leadership to identify trends, provide strategic advice, and deliver operational support on complex security matters. This role requires a proactive, analytical thinker with a strong background in intelligence or cyber operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct fused intelligence analysis in an insider threat context.
- Support the uplift of policy, doctrine, processes, and governance for the Insider Threat capability.
- Perform vulnerability and behavioural analysis to inform security intelligence.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to reduce risk exposure.
- Provide strategic insights into vulnerabilities related to trusted insiders.
- Lead and deliver the vision and strategy of the Insider Threat Program.
- Present intelligence findings through high-quality written and verbal communication.
About You
You are a driven and experienced professional with:
- Qualifications in intelligence and/or security.
- Demonstrated experience in intelligence, cyber security, investigations, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of the intelligence cycle and/or cyber operations.
- Excellent time management and a solution-focused mindset.
- Analytical problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication skills to present complex intelligence findings.
Contract Details
- Start Date: Monday, 24 November 2025
- Duration: 18 months initial term, with potential for an 18-month extension
- Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid (minimum 3 days in-office per week, flexible for remaining 2 days)
- Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1
- Citizenship Requirement: Australian Citizens only
- Labour Hire Licence: Required for ACT, VIC, and QLD
