The role of the Salesforce Architect / Developer is to provide a Digital Visitation Register.

Duties and Accountabilities

  • Undertake Salesforce development services.
    Undertake enhancement, break/fix defect repair.
  • Maintain design specifications.
  • Partake in Agile project ceremonies.
  • Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
  • Work autonomously with key stakeholders including business units, analysts, architects and management to identify and evaluate proposed solutions to fulfil business requirements.
  • Document the proposed solutions and take an objective approach to comparing options before providing recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provide forward and strategic thinking to identify and design enterprise services that promote re-usability.
  • Where beneficial, prototype the proposed solutions to demonstrate feasibility and/or reduce uncertainty around key characteristics of the solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with analysts to design and provide solution cost estimate for business cases.
  • Manage solution risk in projects by providing risk mitigation options and design approaches.
  • Support effective solution implementation by providing guidance and direction to project teams on technical issues that may impact the solution and its implementation and provide implementation assistance on an as-needed basis.
  • Solve complex technical problems and provide technical direction to other developers.
  • Lead the planning, design, implementation, and management of technical environments required to deliver application software or services.
  • Maintaining awareness on current trends and industry practices that could have a potential benefit to the Department.
  • Knowledge of relevant WoVG and Federal Government ICT policies and standards.


Selection Criteria

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as an Application / Solution Architect, holding a range of Salesforce Certifications, working for medium to large government or commercial organisations with software design patterns, development standards, and application frameworks.
  • Understand, advocate, and support the programs strategy.
  • Review and interpret business requirements and user stories gathered to identify potential solutions
  • Co-ordinating technical teams across a program of work to ensure the development, design and requirements align.
  • Co-ordinating with dependant health and partnering departments and agencies solutions and release timing.
  • Extensive experience in integration patterns, service development (SOAP Web Services and RESTful APIs), API management (API security and usage policy definition) and SOA framework, as well as messaging formats (JSON and XML).
  • Strong experience working in teams that have built highly reliable and scalable products and codebases that are secure (OWASP), resilient, cost effective whilst easy to build, release and maintain.
  • Experience developing and embedding technical practices in Engineering teams.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Experience and knowledge of network and infrastructure security principles (such as PKI/TLS, Single Sign-On and Federated Identity Management) applicable to solution designs.
  • Experience providing technical leadership and guidance to project team members.
  • Demonstrated experience with Agile SDLC
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or similar tool sets
  • Ability to work flexible hours / shifts as required, including weekend and outside of core business hours
