This large Federal Government agency requires a Principal Data and Analytics Architect to lead and establish the reporting and analytics capabilities for the agency, which will enable data to be used for research and public health purposes.

You will drive to deliver high quality, large scale analytics platforms, both data science and enterprise data warehouse.

Duties include:

  • Support and deliver Enterprise Data & Analytics Platforms

  • Provide specialist knowledge about applying DevOps to data & analytics

  • Facilitate and lead the technical delivery of on premise and cloud data & analytics platforms,

  • Manage multiple vendors including leveraging relationships to provide positive outcomes for the agency and the delivery work packages,

  • Ensure that our user experience is at the centre of the solutions that we provide,

  • Ensure that the solutions provided meet accessibility expectations, identify improvements and leverage relationships with vendors to improve the user experience.

  • Ensure that the services we provide are good value for money and deliver on intended purpose

  • Provide strategic and expert domain knowledge to architectural teams in design of solutions

  • As a senior member of the team, possess the ability to work independently with limited supervision.

  • Foster a positive culture within the Applications & Integration team aligned with Agency values; and

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

To be successful in this role you will require the skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computing, Information Systems, or another related field is essential

  • Experience as a data developer and management of large-scale enterprise analytics platforms

  • Background in any of the following: Data Warehousing, Big Data, Business Intelligence, Data Lakes, Data Migration or large-scale operational Analytics

  • Track record of thought leadership and innovation around Big Data

  • Solid understanding of Cloud Computing Technologies and related emerging technology

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment

  • Extensive technical problem-solving experience

  • Experience with HL7 standards (highly desirable).

  • Experience and skills in managing both internal and external relationships to achieve organisational objectives.
