Mobile Developer

Location Brisbane CBD
Discipline Software Development, Testing & QA
Job reference 164551
Salary Negotiable

This is a newly founded and rapidly growing Australian business with the goal of transforming an industry. We work fully remote, but also have access to a Brisbane CBD based office for face to face catchups as required, or for anyone who prefers working in an office environment.

To support our ambitious growth plans, we're looking for a motivated and highly skilled Senior Software Engineer, who's looking to make a genuine impact.

What drives us

Our core values define who we are and how we work, and we'll go into a lot more detail about that when we speak.

  • Autonomy - We prefer personal responsibility and self-discipline over red tape and bureaucracy. Move fast, make decisions, and default to action.
  • Collaboration - We aim to leverage our collective genius by sharing information openly, broadly, and deliberately. We're stronger together when we teach, we share, and we listen.
  • Growth - We recognise that we're a work in progress, and we each have much to learn. We are not afraid to fail and make mistakes. Fail fast, learn fast!
  • Humility - It's not about figuring out who's right, it's figuring out what's right. Humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking of yourself less.
  • Positivity - We strive to approach things in a positive way and always assume that others are innately motivated to do what's best for the team.

What you'll do

As a senior software engineer you'll join one of our cross-functional product development teams to design and build major features and enhancements to our SDKs, APIs, and Developer Portal, that together serve as the primary integration point for our compliance grade geolocation product.

You'll be working with one or more languages such as C++, C#, Objective-C, Swift, Java, Kotlin, and Javascript, across both mobile and desktop platforms, while also having the opportunity to learn and contribute to other areas of our product. We're also using GitHub, Figma, Slack, Google Workspace, and others, to help us work.

Who you are

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate each of the following qualities:

  • You're a team player who can collaborate effectively in cross-functional remote teams.
  • You consider the quality of the software you produce to be of utmost importance.
  • You're an effective problem solver who can articulate pros and cons of different solutions.
  • You strive for technical excellence through your coding and system design.
  • You're comfortable with receiving constructive criticism and giving effective feedback.
  • You're comfortable and effective at leading and mentoring others regardless of background.
  • You have the ability to develop expertise in important areas, and share what you learn.
  • You're comfortable making technical decisions to effectively tackle evolving business needs.

We'll also give you extra points for experience or aptitude in any of the following skills:

  • CQRS, Event Sourcing, and Event Driven architectures.
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Geospatial data sources.
  • Domain-Driven Design, Bounded Contexts and Ubiquitous Language.
  • User Experience Design.

What we offer

We pay competitive salaries, and review them annually. Our work hours are flexible, and you have the option of working remote, or from an office with a fully stocked kitchen if you prefer. We supply all employees with a new notebook, as well as a new phone after you've been with us for 6 months. Join us for food and drinks whenever we can muster it, and work it off later with our free gym access.
