About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for experienced Infrastructure Engineers to contribute to a major ICT capability development project within a key Australian Government agency. This role is focused on supporting a specialist Technical Data Team (TDT) responsible for designing, building, testing, and operating ICT systems that enable secure data transport between classified environments.

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will research, design, implement, and manage software solutions, ensuring the effective operation of Windows server platforms within a complex ICT environment. Your expertise will be integral in maintaining and enhancing security, automation, and integration across a broad range of Defence-related projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research, design, implement, and manage software solutions.

  • Develop and maintain a Windows server platform, including Active Directory, DNS, PKI, Remote Desktop Services, and WSUS.

  • Design, test, and deploy new versions of the Windows operating system, build and maintain system images, and provide integration for VMware.

  • Integrate and support security and management software.

  • Provide server automation and integration with MFA solutions.

  • Implement regular system checks to monitor hardware and software status.

  • Develop and operate backup and recovery services for virtualised Windows systems.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve Windows system issues.

  • Manage server migrations when required.

  • Perform additional tasks as required by the Technical team.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Demonstrated experience in designing, testing, and deploying new versions of the Windows operating system.

  • Strong understanding of security software and best practices for Windows environments.

  • Ability to work effectively in a complex, fast-paced environment.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Australian Government information security policies, including the ASD Information Security Manual and Essential Eight.

Security Clearance & Assessment Information

Once successful, an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) will be conducted as part of their onboarding. This role will require you to obtain a TSPV security-clearance but our client is only seeking NV1 cleared personnel to begin the role. TSPV is requires as you will be collaboration with key stakeholders and access necessary systems for project deliverables.
