We are currently seeking a Infrastructure / Application Support Engineer to join our Federal Government Client on a 12 month contract.

Role Description:


The primary duties of the Infrastructure/Application Support Engineer will be to:

  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support services to ensure business continuity of APO's Microsoft server platform and the APO's bespoke .NET/SQL Server business applications;
  • Investigate, develop and implement data fixes (in conjunction with the Application Developers) to bespoke business applications;
  • Take ownership over production incidents and see them through to resolution;
  • Provide technical advice on Microsoft Systems Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM);
  • Participate in the design, development, testing, deployment and support of IT infrastructure in support of the APO's bespoke business applications;
  • Develop and implement changes to departmental systems strictly in accordance with departmental change control procedures;
  • Transfer skills, provide documentation and exchange information on all relevant aspects of infrastructure, software development and support.
  • Participate fully in any assigned project activity and endeavour to achieve outcomes in the most effective way;
  • Maintain data and system integrity in accordance with Departmental policy, Security Instructions and Information Security Manual;
  • In conjunction with managers, prioritise, analyse and complete tasks according to the nature and urgency of requests;
  • Participate in resolver groups as part of the problem resolution process;
  • Ensure that the tasks and progressive action history are duly recorded and concluded to the client's satisfaction;
  • Implement changes to departmental systems SOE strictly in accordance with departmental change control procedures;
  • Must comply with all other relevant procedures and processes;
  • Participate as required in any out of hours support and on call roster; and
  • Undertake other duties as required.
