Our Leading Government client is looking for a Infrastructure Project Manager for a long opportunity of 12 months plus a possible extension

Job Description:

  • Broad experience (5+ years) across several areas including:
  • large, complex, matrix environments
  • strong network & general infrastructure background
  • experienced in enterprise level migrations & uplifts
  • experience with different technology stacks & system interoperability
  • security upgrades and server infrastructure refresh experience
  • integration - environments (legacy & SAP)


General project management skills required include:

  • business case preparation
  • manage projects financial - budgets and forecasting
  • integration and scope management - project planning, scope definition, work breakdown structures, and change control.
  • delivery to scope, schedule, quality and budget
  • manage several streams of work in parallel
  • manage communications and stakeholder relationships
  • manage issues, risks, inter dependencies, variations
  • report into, advise, and take direction from project board
  • ensure roles & responsibilities are clearly understood across the delivery team & stakeholders
  • Prince 2 project methodology
  • ability to manage multiple streams of work concurrently under different delivery methodologies (Agile, waterfall, iterative, ….)
  • resource, stakeholder, & vendor management
  • build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders


Desirable

  • Large Government Organisation experience / Utilities
  • Demonstrable experience in large complex environments


Soft Skills:

  • Driven, self-starter who takes ownership, leads project team to success, knows how to make things happen, and is not afraid to challenge where necessary
  • ability to influence and build relationships at different levels
  • Understands the importance of a large organisations project governance needs and can work through these while ensuring project delivers
  • Can navigate projects through a challenging political stakeholder environment
  • Ability to understand and engage with the business
  • Good to listening, negotiation and motivation skills
  • Pragmatic and flexible approach, able to think outside the box in problem solving
