Fullstack Software Engineer

Location: ACT

Contract: 12 months (flexibility to go fixed term non on-going or part-time)

Security Clearance: Australian Citizen

Our client is looking for multiple Technical Software Engineers to join their team.

Duties:

  1. Software Review and Analysis:
    • Review code developed by team members for quality, efficiency, and adherence to coding standards.
    • Analyze software requirements and technical designs to ensure completeness and accuracy.
    • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality and maintainability.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify potential issues or areas for improvement in software architecture and design.
  2. Bug Fixing and Troubleshooting:
    • Investigate and diagnose software bugs reported by users or identified through testing.
    • Develop and implement effective solutions to resolve bugs and technical issues in a timely manner.
    • Write clear and comprehensive bug reports, including steps to reproduce and potential impact on users.
    • Work closely with QA engineers to reproduce and validate reported issues, and to verify bug fixes.
  3. Regulatory Compliance:
    • Stay informed about relevant regulations, standards, and best practices applicable to software development, particularly in regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, or pharmaceuticals.
    • Ensure that software development processes and deliverables comply with applicable regulatory requirements, such as HIPAA, GDPR, or FDA regulations.
    • Collaborate with regulatory affairs and compliance teams to understand and address regulatory requirements related to software functionality, data privacy, security, and documentation.
    • Participate in audits and assessments to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements, and assist in addressing findings or recommendations as needed.
  4. Continuous Improvement:
    • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance software quality, performance, and maintainability through process improvements, tooling enhancements, or technology upgrades.
    • Contribute to the development and adoption of best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance methodologies within the development team.
    • Stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and industry developments related to software development, bug tracking, and regulatory compliance.
  5. Documentation and Communication:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of software designs, architecture, configurations, and changes.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including developers, product managers, QA engineers, and regulatory teams, to ensure shared understanding of software requirements, issues, and solutions.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to team members, including mentoring junior developers and sharing knowledge about software review processes, bug fixing strategies, and regulatory compliance considerations.
  6. Testing Support:
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of automated tests, test scripts, and testing frameworks to support continuous integration and regression testing efforts.
    • Collaborate with QA engineers to define test cases, test data, and test environments, and to ensure comprehensive test coverage for software features and functionality.
    • Participate in testing activities as needed, including functional testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing, to validate software changes and verify compliance with requirements.
