The Role

You will be a key part of the team providing through life support for the computational Research Networks and Trial Systems. Your day will include but not limited to:

• Data movement
• Assisting setup of scientific equipment
• Level 3 support of Wintel/Linux
• Collaborate to resolve issues in build or running of lab or experimental systems
• Support of research DevOps platforms in modelling and simulation environments

To be successful in this role you will have knowledge or experience in several of the following:

• Demonstrate knowledge of platforms (Linux and/or Windows Desktop and Server) and supporting network services such as AD, DNS, DHCP.
• Experience working across Network security services/appliances
• Scripting/Programming (ie. PowerShell, python, JAVA) and/or experience supporting DevOps teams and systems.
• Data movement protocols and tools such as SMB, NFS, rsync or storage system data synchronisation.
• Strong stakeholder engagement
• Good understanding of ITIL principles and practices.
• Be able to demonstrate an ability to quickly understand unfamiliar technology.
