Overview
The Role:
The Department is building significant digital capability within the Congestion Busting Program. They seek an experienced Delivery Manager to work as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to ensure they meet commitments. Working closely with their Product Manager and other MDTs, the Delivery Manager is expected to set the tone for success, including the team's delivery framework, and common priorities and dependencies in relation to the prioritisation of work. The Delivery Manager will also ensure that the MDT builds products to an appropriate level of quality and in keeping with commitments made during program planning.
We are seeking delivery managers who have demonstrable experience working in multi-disciplinary teams as a servant leader and team member, not delivery managers who supervised multiple teams.

Key Deliverables:

  • Ensure optimal team performance and psychological safety.

  • Rapid, value aligned incremental and iterative delivery of products for users

  • Causes impediments to be removed for their team and supports other delivery managers to do the same.

  • Lead collaborative planning processes and supports the prioritisation of work.

  • Facilitates effective team events, like stand-up, sprint planning and retrospectives.

  • Ensures the right resources are available for the team.

  • Supports the team to continuously improve.

  • Be accountable to ensure the team is able to deliver. Skills & Experience

  • Strong track record of delivery working as a team member of MDTs in complex digital transformations

  • Demonstrable experience working in agile, multi-disciplinary teams in complex environments

  • Effectiveness in complex product and service planning with multiple other MDTs

  • Ability to manage team budgets and expenditure

  • Exceptionally skilled at forming cohesive and collaborative teams

  • Adept at managing risk and proactively removing blockers

  • Evidence based capability to meet delivery commitments

  • Able to describe the experiential change for users when communicating with your own MDT, other teams and stakeholders

  • The ability to influence with/without authority

  • Evidence as a delivery manager in a multi-disciplinary team, delivered user centred outcomes in a complex digital transformation 30%

  • Demonstrated ability to create optimal team performance in your own team and support other teams in the same 30%

  • Ability as a delivery manager in a multi-disciplinary team to adapt to change while still ensuring rapid, value aligned delivery 30%



Desirable criteria

  • Demonstrable experience working as a team member following a design process equivalent to the Service design and delivery process
