Job Opportunity: APS6 Automation Tester (12-Month Contract)
Location: ACT
Working Arrangements: Hybrid (minimum 3 days in-office per week)
Contract Duration: Initial 12 months, with a 12-month extension
Estimated Start Date: Monday, 27 October 2025
Security Clearance: Baseline
Citizenship Requirement: Australian citizens only
Maximum Weekly Hours: 37.5
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced APS6 Automation Tester to support major ICT work programs focused on delivering innovative, fit-for-purpose solutions. This role is primarily responsible for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Business Verification Testing (BVT) for production releases. Projects may follow either waterfall or agile methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft business requirements and future state processes to develop test scripts.
- Conduct functional and business verification testing.
- Liaise with business areas to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Attend workshops and allocate test scripts.
- Monitor test execution and document results in summary reports.
- Coordinate re-tests and assist project managers with testing.
- Troubleshoot business issues and validate system behavior.
- Create test scenarios, define and generate test data.
- Capture defects in ALM and produce release summary reports.
Essential Criteria
- Ability to quickly understand business requirements and draft test scripts.
- Experience in functional testing for UAT and BVT.
- Strong liaison skills to ensure test coverage based on functional requirements.
- Proven experience in creating structured test scenarios and scripts.
- Knowledge of Test Life Cycle Methodology.
- Experience managing defects using ALM.
Desirable Criteria
- Enthusiasm for accessible design and development.
- Experience with SAP.
- Familiarity with NDIA business systems and/or processes.
- Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic environments.
