A leading organisation is seeking an experienced Windows Systems Engineer to play a key role in shaping and maintaining their enterprise Windows environment. This is an opportunity for a proactive and highly skilled professional who thrives on solving complex technical challenges and driving operational excellence.

This will be a daily rate contract, with hybrid work arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and enhance a multi-site SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
  • Lead efforts in SCCM architecture, including redesigns, structural improvements, and high-impact reconfigurations.
  • Manage and maintain both Windows Server and Client fleets, ensuring stability, security, and consistency across environments.
  • Contribute to the organisation's modern device management strategy, with Microsoft Intune experience being highly desirable.
  • Implement and support Application Control and Whitelisting solutions; Windows Defender Application Control (WDAC) experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Identify inefficiencies in current system designs and operational processes, recommending and implementing improvements where needed.
  • Champion a security-first approach, with a Zero Trust mindset, advocating for strict security standards and best practices.
  • Ensure all current and new system designs, configurations, and procedures are clearly and accurately documented.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Brings a depth of experience in SCCM, especially in complex, distributed environments.
  • Demonstrates strong technical acumen across both server-side and client-side Windows environments.
  • Shows a passion for process optimisation and system architecture.
  • Displays a proactive approach to security with a no-compromise attitude.
  • Communicates clearly and can produce thorough documentation to support long-term system stability and knowledge sharing.

This is an excellent role for someone who enjoys working autonomously, takes ownership of their systems, and seeks to make impactful improvements within a forward-thinking IT team.
