About the Role

Experis Australia has been engaged by our highly valued Federal Government client to source an experienced Test Analyst (APS5 level) for a pivotal role within a major digital transformation program aimed at increasing transparency and improving regulatory capabilities.

This is an opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of critical technology systems in support of enhanced public sector service delivery. As a Test Analyst, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of technology solutions through structured testing activities and close collaboration with technical and business teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans, scenarios, and scripts for functional, integration, and regression testing.

  • Work closely with development teams to define acceptance criteria aligned with business and functional requirements.

  • Conduct manual and system-based testing, capturing and tracking defects through to resolution.

  • Prepare detailed test documentation and reports to inform project stakeholders.

  • Assist with issue triaging and support release cycles with structured testing approaches.

  • Engage across technical and business units to ensure delivery of high-quality solutions.


Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience in test processes, including test case design, test execution, defect tracking, and reporting.

  • Strong understanding of Agile testing methodologies.

  • Ability to translate business requirements into comprehensive test scenarios.

  • Working knowledge of SQL for data validation and integrity checking.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to contribute to a positive team environment.

  • Strong collaboration skills with internal stakeholders, project teams, and service providers.

  • Self-motivated, capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

  • High level of attention to detail with strong analytical and interpretive skills.


Desirable Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications or recognised certifications in Information Technology or related disciplines.

  • 2-5 years' experience in a software testing or quality assurance environment.

  • Exposure to DevOps practices and tools such as Azure DevOps and Selenium.
