Key responsibilities
As the Technical Delivery Lead, you will be responsible for:

  • Provide technical design and delivery oversight, delivery assistance, taking inputs from architecture, networks, security and other relevant domains to meet the end-to-end technology needs.
  • Partner with Project Managers to own delivery plans, tracking milestones, risks, and dependencies to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery. When necessary, facilitate scrum ceremonies to ensure delivery activities support the overall delivery plans and project goals.
  • Work with the external vendors, service providers and other government agencies, IT architecture, security, network and delivery teams to ensure IT solutions are designed, secured, delivered and supported appropriately, meeting business and technical requirements of the department.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships to facilitate effective communication and stakeholder involvement to support requirements gathering, issue resolution, clarifying objectives and managing expectations to guarantee the successful implementation of recommended solutions.
  • Act as a key point of contact for business stakeholders to translate technical release needs into planning and specifications.
  • Proactively identify technical challenges and resolve using critical thinking that balances project objectives (scope, time, cost) and technical designs.
  • Plan and coordinate technology releases and change management activities, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

What we are looking for
We'll assess your suitability for this role by looking at what you've done previously - the knowledge, skills and experience you've built, your potential for development, and your personal qualities. The position requires an applicant who can demonstrate or has:

  • Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of modern architectures (APIs, microservices, cloud platforms like Azure/AWS) and software development lifecycles within a Microsoft Dynamics and Azure ecosystem.
  • Solution Implementation: Experience with a complete project lifecycle, from inception to implementation and successful user take-up.
  • Problem Solving Abilities: The capability to analyse problems, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions to overcome obstacles and ensure project success.
  • Experience in the role: Undertook similar activities within a project structure for at least 5 years.
  • Agile Ways of Working: Extensive experience with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban delivery methodologies.
  • Communication: Ability to bridge the gap between complex technical concepts and everyday business terms for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to mentor, foster collaboration, and manage performance.
  • Integration Patterns: Proven track record in API-led connectivity, OData, and legacy data migration using tools like SSIS or KingswaySoft.
  • Proven high level negotiation, consultation, facilitation and effective written and oral communication skills for use in a complex program/project environment.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications (e.g. Microsoft, Scrum) are desirable.
  • Citizenship/visa: to be appointed to a position, you must be an Australian citizen, have permanent residency status or a visa permitting you to work in Australia.
