About the Opportunity

Experis Australia is partnering with a large Federal Government department to engage a Senior SAP HR Functional Systems Analyst for a long‑term program of work. This role will be critical in supporting ongoing transformation across HR systems, leveraging SAP S/4HANA HCM and related cloud technologies.

You'll work closely with project leads, HR stakeholders, and technical specialists to enhance, optimise and evolve core SAP HR processes across a complex APS environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review, analyse and improve HR business processes, ensuring SAP HCM and S/4HANA solutions are streamlined, compliant and aligned with organisational needs.
  • Configure SAP HR/HCM modules and update system design documentation, functional specs, and process maps.
  • Lead functional design activities, supporting enhancements, new capability builds and system optimisation work.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation throughout all delivery phases.
  • Collaborate with HR teams and program leads to ensure accurate planning for design, development, and integration activities.
  • Develop and maintain Test Cases and support defect resolution, validation and functional testing cycles.
  • Create, update and manage documentation within SAP S/4HANA, ensuring proper version control and recordkeeping.
  • Provide expert advice on S/4HANA fit‑to‑standard approaches and functional configuration options.
  • Contribute to end‑to‑end solution design across Hire‑to‑Retire and other SAP HCM functional streams.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years' experience in IT with deep functional expertise in SAP HCM, S/4HANA HR, and delivery of SAP solutions within large government departments.
  • Strong hands‑on capability in S/4HANA configuration, process redesign, data migration validation, testing, and defect management.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing SAP HR solutions across complex APS landscapes, including interpreting and configuring complex public‑sector employment conditions.
  • Ability to identify system gaps and design effective solutions that align with business requirements.
  • Broad knowledge of functional and technical components across SAP S/4HANA, SuccessFactors, and related cloud‑based applications.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous SAP project delivery within Federal or State Government programs.
  • Knowledge of advanced S/4HANA HR functionality and public‑sector HR processes.
  • Understanding of change and transition activities for complex HR systems.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to translate business needs into system changes.

Security Requirements

You must hold a current Baseline Clearance to be considered for this role. Applicants without an active clearance cannot be progressed.
