Senior SAP HR Developer (Software Engineer)
We are seeking a Senior SAP HR Developer to design, build, and enhance SAP HR solutions that support the Hire-to-Retire lifecycle. You'll work closely with functional consultants, business stakeholders, and integration teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions across SAP ECC6 HCM and related platforms (e.g., SuccessFactors), ensuring stability in BAU and agility for projects and minor works.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver solutions to evolving business requirements within projects, minor works, and BAU across existing SAP HR/HCM landscapes.
- Lead and contribute to technical design-translating functional requirements into high-quality, maintainable technical solutions and integrations.
- Design, develop, and enhance SAP HCM (Hire to Retire) processes, including Personnel Administration, Organisational Management, Time Management, Payroll interfaces, and ESS/MSS (as applicable).
- Provide regular status updates and proactive risk/issue management to ensure delivery within agreed scope, quality, and timeframes.
- Support business operations and production stability, including incident resolution, performance tuning, and root-cause analysis for SAP ECC6 and integrations with non-SAP applications.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, solution design artefacts, configuration guides, interface specs, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with integration and cloud teams to ensure seamless data flows between SAP ECC/SuccessFactors and other enterprise systems (e.g., middleware, APIs, data services).
- Uphold development standards and best practices, including transport management, code reviews, and adherence to security/compliance requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience in SAP HR development (e.g., ABAP for HR, HR-PA/OM enhancements, HR forms, workflows, BAPIs/BADIs, user exits).
- Proven track record designing and implementing SAP HR solutions across the HCM functional stream (Hire to Retire), including customisations and integrations.
- Strong knowledge of SAP ECC HCM and SuccessFactors (functional and technical), with experience in cloud-based HR applications and integration patterns.
- Hands-on expertise with ABAP, HR-ABAP, ALE/IDocs, RFC/BAPI, OData/REST APIs, and PI/PO or other middleware tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work across projects, minor works, and BAU, balancing delivery timelines with quality and stakeholder expectations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical detail into business outcomes and provide clear status reporting.
Desirable
- Experience with Payroll (interface focus), Time & Attendance, or ESS/MSS enablement.
- Exposure to SuccessFactors modules (e.g., Employee Central) and Integration Center.
- Knowledge of testing frameworks and automation for SAP changes (e.g., unit/integration testing, test data management).
- Understanding of security, roles/authorisations, and compliance within HR systems.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban) and DevOps practices for SAP transport and release management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- SAP certifications in HCM and/or SuccessFactors are highly regarded.
