Experis Australia is seeking an experienced Lead SAP FICO Functional Analyst to join our Federal Government client on a long‑term program of work based in Canberra, ACT. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a close‑knit team of highly skilled SAP Developers and functional specialists, reporting directly to the Delivery Manager.
The role is offered on a 12‑month contract with one extension option, hybrid working arrangements, and full‑time hours (40 hrs/week). To be considered, candidates must hold an active Baseline security clearance or higher.
About the Role
The Lead SAP FICO Functional Analyst will play a central role in assessing, enhancing, and supporting the organisation's SAP ECC6 financial management environment. This includes leading functional design, configuration, and optimisation across core finance processes, ensuring the system supports best‑practice financial operations now and into the future.
You will work closely with finance stakeholders, business teams, and technical specialists to deliver high‑quality solutions that improve financial controls, enhance reporting, streamline processes, and uplift organisational capability.

To be successful in this role, you will need:
Essential Experience
- Minimum 7 years of strong SAP experience implementing and supporting the full suite of SAP Financials, including:
- General Ledger
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Financial Accounting
- Management Accounting
- Fixed Asset Accounting
- Budgeting
- Costing
Extensive expertise in SAP FI/CO, with deep functional knowledge and hands‑on configuration capability.
- Demonstrated experience with FI integration to other modules such as MM and HR.
- Ability to troubleshoot performance issues within SAP ECC6 and resolve them effectively.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships.
- Ability to provide clear, best‑practice advice to business stakeholders on financial and controlling solutions.
- Active Baseline clearance or above.
