Program Assurance Specialist
Location: ACT (Hybrid - initial onsite presence required)
Hours: Part-time (24 hours per week)
Security Clearance: Baseline
Start Date: 30 March 2026
Contract Duration: 12 months + up to 2 x 12-month extensions
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Program Assurance Specialist to provide assurance expertise and advice on program governance, project delivery, and external assurance requirements to support the success of a major ICT program.
You will assist with preparing program assurance plans aligned with the Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) Assurance Framework, review program artefacts, and support preparations for Gateway Reviews and health checks. The role also involves implementing recommendations from these reviews and providing strategic advice to senior executives on program delivery and governance improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the Program's Assurance Plan in alignment with DTA Assurance Plan and Gateway requirements.
- Review and provide guidance on program artefacts, including:
- Benefits Management Plan
- Risk Management Plan
- Program Plan
- Change Management Plan
- Attend Program Board and governance meetings as required.
- Provide assurance advisory expertise to the Program Board and Program Lead.
- Advise on Gateway Review or Delivery Confidence Assessment readiness, identify gaps, and prepare briefings and presentations.
- Support adoption of recommendations from Gateway Reviews and Delivery Confidence assessments.
About the Program
This is a multi-year program focused on sustaining and refreshing essential ICT and property assets to ensure critical business systems remain supported, patched, and resilient. The program consists of multiple streams and projects requiring strong assurance and governance oversight.
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated experience developing program-level Assurance Plans aligned with DTA Assurance Framework and Gateway requirements.
- Experience delivering assurance advisory services to Program Boards and senior executives.
- Proven ability to review and guide on core program artefacts (Benefits Management Plan, Risk Management Plan, Program Plan, Change Management Plan).
- Experience implementing recommendations from reviews and identifying gaps for further enhancements.
