A Federal Government department is seeking an experienced Security Analyst to join a cyber governance, risk and assurance function. This senior role supports secure ICT operations and contributes to strategic cyber uplift activities across the organisation. You will work across governance, assurance, risk management and policy uplift, ensuring alignment with PSPF, ISM and the Essential Eight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support security governance, compliance and IRAP preparation activities.
  • Conduct cyber risk assessments and provide assurance for ICT and cloud projects.
  • Develop and review security documentation, reports and technical artefacts.
  • Provide expert cyber security advice to a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Monitor threats and recommend improvements to strengthen the organisation's security posture.
  • Lead vendor security engagement and manage third‑party cyber risks.
  • Deliver concise, decision‑ready cyber reporting for senior leadership.
  • Maintain and uplift security policies, standards and procedures.

Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • Strong knowledge of ICT and cyber security technologies, standards and best practices.
  • Experience in cyber governance, assurance, risk management or accreditation processes.
  • Strong understanding of PSPF, ISM and the Essential Eight.
  • Excellent documentation, analytical and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience within medium/large organisations; government experience is highly regarded.

Desirable:

  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, Security+, SABSA, GIAC or similar.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications.
