One Senior SAP BTP Integration Software Engineer

Job Details

Software Engineers have experience overseeing software development projects, writing optimised code, and providing technical leadership to a team of software engineers. They are responsible for the quality and functionality of the software produced by their team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The Specified Personnel will be responsible for providing the following deliverables, including but not limited to:

Integration Strategy and Architecture

• Designing long term integration roadmaps using SAP ISA M and real time APIs and asynchronous messaging
• Designing and implementing secure, scalable integration solutions across SAP and non SAP systems, supporting a cloud first strategy and clean core principles
• Creating high level architecture blueprints and technical documentation aligned with the Clean Core strategy
• Evaluating legacy interfaces and planning migration to SAP Integration Suite to reduce technical debt
• Modernising legacy systems through cloud services connection and side by side extension implementation
• Enforcing integration best practices and corporate governance for scalable and future proof designs

Development and Configuration

• Building and configuring iFlows for automated data exchange between internal platforms and external partners
• Developing and managing APIs using SAP API Management for secure and monitored interface traffic
• Implementing event driven architectures using SAP Event Mesh for real time messaging
• Configuring connectivity protocols including OData, REST, SOAP, AS2, SFTP and IDocs
• Performing data mapping and transformation using graphical tools, XSLT or custom Groovy and JavaScript
• Applying security standards including OAuth 2.0, SSL TLS, X.509 certificates and message encryption

Platform and Environment Management

• Monitoring integration environments and troubleshooting failed messages through root cause analysis
• Managing platform administration tasks including role collections, subaccount configurations and keystore updates
• Using SAP Business Application Studio, BTP Cockpit, Cloud Integration, Cloud Connector and CI CD tools including GitHub and Jenkins

Testing and Documentation

• Leading system integration testing and supporting user acceptance testing
• Maintaining comprehensive technical documentation for all integration artefacts and process flows

Specified Personnel will be expected to transfer skills and knowledge to departmental staff and ensure documentation is stored in accordance with record keeping policies and practices.

Deliverables

The Specified Personnel will be responsible for producing the following deliverables, including but not limited to:

• Integration roadmaps, architecture blueprints and migration plans
• Build and deploy iFlows, APIs and event driven architectures with full documentation
• Secure, scalable connectivity and governance frameworks for SAP BTP integrations
• Lead testing, monitor operations and produce technical documentation

All deliverables must:

• Be delivered promptly in accordance with timeframes notified by the buyer
• Meet assessment and performance criteria set out in monitoring and performance assessment processes

Essential Criteria

1. Proven background of 10 plus years in the IT industry with extensive experience in SAP BTP development and understanding of integration with S4 HANA and SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
2. Experience designing and implementing SAP BTP solutions within large Public Service environments at Commonwealth or State level, including government security and compliance frameworks
3. Proficiency in Node.js, Java, JavaScript, Python, ABAP Cloud, Dev Ops and tools including SAP Business Application Studio, Eclipse ADT and GitHub
4. Demonstrated experience developing critical integrations and successfully migrating legacy interfaces to SAP Integration Suite

Desirable Criteria

1. Experience developing REST and OData APIs for SAP and non SAP systems
2. Experience working in large complex organisations similar in scale
3. Experience working within SAP Sovereign Cloud or SAP Private Cloud Edition
4. Experience using and deploying Dev Ops practices
