Financial services client looking for a permanent Lead Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join a platform engineering team supporting customer facing applications. Working in a team of high-performance engineers, the Tech Lead, SRE will be directly involved in the design, build and rollout of new SRE & Observability capabilities, which leverage cloud-based services to assist with the transition to a self-service platform model.
Responsibilities:
- Perform as the tech lead, providing direction on SRE strategy and capabilities
- Develop and maintain a world-class Developer Experience that enables teams to work more efficiently and effectively.
- Provide expert technical guidance to the wider SRE & Observability team
- Seek to continuously improve to the development of CI/CD pipelines, using tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, Akamai, SonarQube, and Snyk,
Required Skills & Experience:
- Extensive experience in software or systems engineering with the ability to work with large, complex codebases
- Expertise in dynamic configuration management and other edge technologies.
- Knowledge of Deployment Gating, Open Policy Agent, Codified Policy Enforcement, Observability, SRE, and Usage of Patterns.
- Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments, with sound knowledge of creating codified CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.
- Strong leadership skills and experience working with and mentoring teams.
- Extensive experience in Infrastructure as Code, Containers, Terraform, Secrets Management using Vault or similar
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
