Junior Software Engineer

About company :

They are an ustralian Government agency responsible for detecting, deterring and disrupting criminal abuse of the financial system to protect the community from serious and organised crime.

Role Summary

Seeking a motivated and engaged Junior Software Developer, to have some experience in Java technologies and online forms development.

Responsibilities and skills:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
  • Exposure to developing rich applications with HTML5/CSS/JavaScript
  • Exposure to React preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with Java development in an enterprise environment and with cloud based technologies
  • The ability to work closely with developers and other staff, both technical and non-technical, in a cross-functional team using Agile methodologies
  • Ability to learn from other team members and to engage with business stakeholders.


Seletion Criteria: (Austrlian citizenship required)

  • Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility as it relates to working in an agile development team, and their willingness to share ideas and best practices with the team.
  • High level of interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively when working collaboratively with team members and customer stakeholders, e.g. the ability to communicate complex concepts to a non-technical audience.
