About the Role
A Federal government agency is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join its ICT team and play a key role in supporting, modernising and securing the infrastructure that underpins digital services. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to important infrastructure transformation initiatives while supporting a diverse, modern technology environment.
You'll work across on‑premises and cloud platforms, support the delivery of critical ICT services, and help ensure its environment remains secure, reliable and future‑focused.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Assist with the planning and delivery of infrastructure modernisation activities in line with the ICT strategy.
- Support a wide range of Windows Servers, SQL Servers, backup and monitoring tools, and virtualised infrastructure.
- Deploy applications and operating systems using both on‑premises and cloud‑based technologies.
- Configure and maintain security products such as Windows Defender, Microsoft AppLocker, and Windows Defender Application Control.
- Automate support tasks using PowerShell, SCCM and other automation tools to streamline operations.
- Provide effective, prompt and customer‑focused technical support for incidents and service requests.
- Assist with the integration and ongoing support of cloud services into the organisational environment.
- Work within an environment compliant with the Information Security Manual (ISM).
- Collaborate with the CIO, Infrastructure team and Architecture function on infrastructure strategy and technology decisions.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs, design documents, and input into procurement processes.
