About the Opportunity

Our client is embarking on a major multi‑year digital transformation program to replace its current ERP solution. They are seeking an experienced Project Manager that has significant previous experience in leading planning and delivering similar programs of work.

Based onsite at the organisation's Canberra headquarters, you will report to the ERP Program Manager and work closely with senior leadership, internal stakeholders, vendors, and third‑party service providers to shape and implement the department's future ERP landscape.

This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in a high‑profile ICT transformation within the Federal Government.

As the ERP Project Manager, you will:

* Lead the end‑to‑end planning and delivery of a major ERP replacement project.

* Manage all core project management activities including:

* Governance and reporting

* Schedule and milestone management

* Scope and change control

* Budget tracking and financial reporting

* Risk, issue, and dependency management

* Oversee stakeholder engagement and communication across the organisation.

* Manage vendor and third‑party relationships to ensure delivery outcomes.

* Drive people change management activities to support adoption and transition.

* Ensure all project artefacts align with internal frameworks, best practices, and external compliance requirements.

Technical Skills & Experience

We are seeking a candidate with:

* Demonstrated experience leading large‑scale ICT programs or projects, ideally ERP or SAP ECC6 related.

* Strong project planning and project management capability, including financial, risk and issue management.

* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

* Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex outcomes.

* Experience working with vendors and senior stakeholders in complex environments.

Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Australian Citizenship (mandatory for engagement).
  • Residence in, or willingness to relocate to, Canberra ACT. (mandatory for engagement).
  • Extensive experience managing major ICT system upgrades, enhancements, or transformation projects.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, communicating, and maintaining project and communication artefacts in alignment with organisational policies and best practice frameworks.

* Significant Federal Government experience, including managing formal procurement processes.
