Data Engineer

Location: ACT

Contract: until 30th June 2025

Extension: 12 months

Our client is seeking multiple Data Engineers to join their expanded team.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and enhance data lakes, CI/CD, and Synapse pipelines on the Azure platform.
• Create scalable architectural solutions for pipeline designs.
• Oversee data migration and integration for key transformation initiatives.
• Maintain data integrity and ensure engineering tasks align with program goals.
• Mentor team members and promote the adoption of new data engineering practices.
• Monitor and optimise data service performance and expenses.
• Keep documentation up-to-date and comply with data governance policies.
• Conduct research and drive innovation in Azure data engineering.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related area.
• Certified in Azure Data Services, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate.
• Over 3 years of experience in data engineering, specialising in Azure services.
• Experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to design and implement scalable data architectures.
• Experience with data migration and managing large-scale data pipelines.
• Knowledgeable in DevOps practices and tools within the Azure environment.
• Strong technical abilities in SQL, Python, and R.
• Skilled in data modeling, including patterns for reuse and scalability.
• Familiar with Azure Monitor, Azure Security, and compliance frameworks.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead technical projects.
• Experience in creating data profiling, data cleansing, and data engineering frameworks.
