Experis are proud to be partnering with our government client who are recruiting for a contract data architect for an initial 12 month contract with a good chance of extension.
Duties:
- Support implementing data strategy, plans and roadmaps including governance policies and standards to maintain data quality, security, and compliance.
- Review design requests for use of the Data Analytics Platform.
- Develop data and analytics platform strategy, roadmap and reference architecture.
- Develop and review conceptual, logical, and physical data models to ensure data consistency, integrity, and accuracy.
- Establish data integration patterns and methodologies to ensure seamless data flow across various systems and applications.
- Assist with the implementation of data lifecycle management practices, including data security classification, data retention, archiving, and data purging.
- Providing architectural guidance and leadership for sound decision-making by providing expert advice that considers business processes and the longer-term strategic roadmap.
- Developing and managing data architecture principles, patterns, standards, and roadmaps - including assessing architectural and business risk.
- Assisting solution teams, working with the Solution Architect to understand a project's data requirements and impacts.
- Maintaining awareness of emerging technologies, tools, and standards as a contribution towards continuous improvements and technology opportunities.
Essential Criteria:
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of relevant enterprise-class experience in Data Architecture.
- Experience working on multiple projects or initiatives with various ranges of complexity, including systems spanning across different organisations.
- Demonstrated architectural leadership and communication of architectural designs and decisions to various stakeholder groups, including senior management, in writing, in person and via Video Conferencing.
- Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced agile delivery environment with delivery teams, and other stakeholders, to design and implement complex IT systems, with emphasis on timeframes, quality, and governance procedures.
- Demonstrated experience in the use of Azure DevOps and Agile practices and processes, and knowledge of SDLC.
- Demonstrated experience in documenting architecture artefacts in your architecture specialisation.
- Experience using Databricks and Azure Microsoft data products including Azure Data Factory and Purview.
Desirable criteria:
- Knowledge and understanding of Whole-of-Government architectural direction and standards.
- Experience in using Microsoft's Azure Well-Architected Framework, and Microsoft's Cloud Adoption Framework.
