A large Government Agency is looking for an experienced APS6 Portfolio Analyst to join the team on a Contract role, 50% work from home, Support PM's & Directors, 6 Month Contract with view to Perm

The agency has commenced a review of current tools, frameworks and processes and is embarking on an exciting journey of implementing key findings and recommendations. Each functional stream in the division includes portfolio analysts who will work collaboratively to support their respective Directors and Managers to ensure that they uplift and embed best practice across programs and projects. It will be expected that the portfolio analysts will be customer focussed on the delivery of these services.

In adherence to the Agency's Values and Code of Conduct your accountabilities will include:

  • Adapt reporting and analytics tools, process, and procedures to accommodate a variety of project and program sizes, types, and delivery models and for different levels of reporting.

  • Provide innovative and best practice knowledge to all outputs in order to assist in embedding of reporting processes and procedures.

  • Provide critical analysis of the program and project reporting to assist in optimal portfolio performance

  • Assist in the development and ongoing management of the division's knowledge library - currently confluence

  • Assist in the business administration and support for PPM system and associated processes

  • Identify where project artifacts can be enhanced and contribute to the development and constant improvement as required

  • Assist PMs to report appropriate metrics that can be used to measure project performance and progress towards the realisation of benefits.



As the successful incumbent of the role, you will demonstrate the following:

  • Experience developing and delivering project, program and portfolio reporting and analysis

  • Knowledge and experience in contemporary portfolio, program and project management methods and tools with knowledge in MoP, P3O, PRINCE2 and PMBOK being beneficial.

  • High level knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Excel, Project and Office systems including Office 365

  • Experience in delivering project health checks and performing stage gating and assurance processes

  • Experience with Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tools in particular Project Online and Empower

  • Experience of working in digital / health environments and projects would be desirable

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Program and project management or certification in MSP, Prince2, PMBOK, Agile or related methodologies would be desirable
