AI Implementation Specialist
Full-time | 6-month contract (with potential 12-month extension)
Location: Canberra, ACT
Are you passionate about driving responsible and innovative AI adoption across an enterprise? We're seeking an experienced AI Implementation Specialist to lead a transformative initiative that will shape the future of AI capability within a major Australian institution.
About the Role
This is a pivotal opportunity to contribute to a high-impact AI Implementation Accelerator program. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders and a specialised AI consultancy to deliver strategic outcomes aligned with a broader digital transformation agenda.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate activities outlined in the AI Implementation roadmap.
- Collaborate with external consultants to implement enterprise AI strategy, governance frameworks, and capability models.
- Develop policies and guidelines for ethical and compliant AI use.
- Design and deliver AI literacy programs for staff and students.
- Identify and prioritise AI use cases across the organisation.
- Support pilot programs for AI initiatives and define success metrics.
- Establish and manage an executive-level AI and Data governance body.
- Prepare business cases to secure funding for future AI phases.
- Engage stakeholders across faculties and business units to ensure alignment.
- Monitor and report on progress, risks, and benefits of AI initiatives.
- Promote a culture of innovation and responsible AI adoption.
Skills & Experience
- Proven expertise in enterprise AI strategy, governance, and implementation.
- Experience designing and facilitating workshops and AI literacy training.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and change management capabilities.
- Demonstrated success in delivering innovative AI solutions and pilots.
- Deep understanding of AI technologies, data governance, and compliance.
- Experience developing policies for emerging technologies.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, especially with executive stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills in dynamic environments.
Working Arrangements
- Full-time position based in Canberra.
- No security clearance required; AFP check mandatory.
