Senior Technical Business Analyst (2 Roles Available)

Initial 6‑month contract + 6‑month extension option
Hybrid working - ACT based (3 days onsite, 2 days from home)
Full time - 37.5 hours per week
Security clearance not required

We are seeking two experienced Senior Technical Business Analysts to join a high‑performing team supporting large‑scale data, cloud and analytics initiatives within the Australian public sector.

This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working in complex environments, collaborating closely with both technical and policy stakeholders, and helping shape future‑state systems and services through well‑defined processes and requirements.

The successful candidates will work in a fast‑paced environment, contributing to the design and delivery of high‑quality data and analytical solutions that inform Australia's health and welfare decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Process Documentation and Cloud Integration Analysis

* Document complex and routine business processes using BPMN, flowcharts and structured templates
* Analyse current‑ and future‑state workflows to identify integration points and alignment with cloud and analytics architectures
* Work with modern cloud and data platforms

2. Requirements Definition and Future‑State Platform Design

* Conduct gap analysis and translate business needs into actionable, prioritised requirements
* Document future‑state business processes, systems and services aligned with enterprise data and analytics strategies

3. Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration

* Partner with policy, operational, cloud and technical stakeholders
* Build consensus, support co‑design practices and facilitate alignment across diverse groups

4. Data, Analytics and Cloud Platform Capability

* Perform data analysis and visualisation using tools such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, SAS, Power BI or Tableau
* Understand cloud‑based data and analytics concepts relevant to public sector reporting and insights

5. Business Case Development and Organisational Support

* Develop evidence‑based business cases supported by data, cost‑benefit analysis and risk assessment
* Support business units with varying technical maturity, including identifying capability and training needs

6. Interpersonal Effectiveness and Responsiveness

* Build strong working relationships and maintain trust across stakeholder groups
* Demonstrate active listening, regular check‑ins and a flexible approach to evolving priorities

Working Arrangements

* Location: ACT
* Onsite: Three days per week, two days from home
* Hours: 37.5 hours per week
* Experience level: Senior (EL1 equivalent)
* Security clearance: Not required
* Estimated start date: Monday, 23 March 2026
