Your team
The DD&T Portfolio Office provides a wide range of portfolio, project management, business planning and governance support services to our organisation. We partner extensively with IT Teams as well as the newly established Digital Transformation team to deliver projects that meet our strategic and operational business needs.

Your role
As a Senior Project Manager, you will:

  • Blending your project management and technical skillsets to deliver a variety of strategic business projects.
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal IT and organisation stakeholders as well as external stakeholders where appropriate;
  • Complying with the organisations Project Management Methodology, which is based on PRINCE2, and System Development Methodology (Agile, Hybrid or Waterfall as required).
  • Driving projects to deliver within the approved KPIs: time, budget, scope, quality, risk and benefit;
  • Embedding the change utilising our Organisational Change Management Framework;
  • Providing appropriate reporting to relevant project boards, sponsors and stakeholders;
  • Controlling the project using appropriate tools and escalating early to minimize risk to success;
  • Identifying resource requirements, engaging and managing resources;
  • Complying with the Commonwealth procurement rules and processes.

Selection criteria
The selection criteria include the qualifications, experience and capabilities required for the role. Your application will be reviewed based on ability to demonstrate, or potential to develop, the capabilities required.
Qualifications and experience

  • Minimum 7 years project management experience, with involvement in large, business critical systems and Australian Government projects being highly regarded.
  • Minimum 3 years agile delivery experience.
  • Current formal qualification in project management: e.g. PRINCE2, PMBOK.
  • Experience in delivering business projects or previous experience in Business Operations
  • Current Australian Government security clearance will be highly regarded.
  • A tertiary qualification in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and be accountable for outcomes.

  • effectively communicate with stakeholders to enable / achieve effective regulatory outcomes and to produce effective strategies and solutions.

The demonstrated ability to adopt a client focused consulting approach with the business, partnering with stakeholders to develop technology led strategies and solutions aligned to current and emerging needs, and to provide strategic advisory services that enable regulatory responses.
