About the role :


The Senior Business Analyst lead the detailed review and analysis of the unit's business intentions, services, processes, information and other functional requirements to facilitate business improvement, and support efficient delivery of business operations and performance in line with organisational strategies and operational plans.


Key Accountability

  • Analyse existing business processes, systems and other functional requirements and recommend improvements to enhance business operations and performance
  • Develop and coordinate improvement initiatives and strategies by applying best practice methodologies and principles to ensure organisational consistency and improved business performance
  • Gather, analyse and translate business data to meaningful insights to support informed decision making to improve the effectiveness of processes and programs
  • Influence and negotiate with external and internal stakeholders to obtain consensus for change initiatives to facilitate scoping and setting business priorities to ensure consistency and quality of outcomes
  • Drive development of business cases and act as a subject matter expert responsible for facilitating requirements workshops, walkthroughs, business process reviews/re-engineering and documenting functional and technical business requirements
  • Implement a structured project planning framework in accordance with approved standards and best practice methodologies to improve efficiency, effectiveness and usability of systems and products
  • Continuously drive agility and flexibility in responding to business and industry changes


Key challenges

  • Ensuring business improvements and functionality is implemented whilst managing multiple tasks with competing priorities and changeable deadlines while negotiating with team members and stakeholders to meet tight time frames with limited resources.
  • Negotiating and influencing diverse groups of stakeholders on organisational priorities and deliverables while establishing effective relationships to develop trust and ensure reliable and accurate information.
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of relevant operational issues, industry trends and opportunities
