Role Overview
This is a multi-disciplinary contract role. Candidates with a combined skill set across Solution Architecture, Technical Leadership, Project Management, and UAT are strongly encouraged to apply.
| Role | Key Responsibilities |
| Solution Architect | Design end-to-end solution architecture including API and data flows between the internal Portal, Superannuation platform, Insurer, and Trustee systems. Define integration patterns and technical standards. |
| Technical Lead | Lead development team in implementing the quote calculator engine, underwriting threshold rules, and decision logic. Ensure code quality, technical documentation, and delivery to specification. |
| Project Manager | Manage delivery from initiation through to go-live. Coordinate across insurers, trustees, advisers, and internal stakeholders. Manage scope, risk, timeline, and budget. |
| UAT Tester | Design and execute UAT test scripts covering all adviser and member journeys, accepted/declined/borderline underwriting scenarios, quote expiry, and edge cases. Manage defect lifecycle. |
Key Skills & Experience Required
Domain Knowledge - Essential
- Demonstrated experience in life insurance, group insurance, or superannuation technology
- Understanding of insurance underwriting rules, cover types (Death, TPD, IP), and threshold management
- Familiarity with adviser/member portal systems in a financial services context
- Knowledge of Australian regulatory and compliance requirements (ASIC, RG 146 an advantage)
Technical Skills
- Experience with portal and workflow application development
- API design and integration experience (REST/SOAP between insurance platforms)
- Understanding of authentication and authorisation patterns for adviser and member portals
- Experience with business rules engines or decision logic implementation
Project & Delivery
- Proven track record delivering technology projects in financial services or insurance
- Strong stakeholder management across business, technology, insurer, and trustee parties
- Ability to translate complex business and regulatory requirements into technical solutions
- UAT planning, test script development, and defect management experience
Preferred / Advantageous
- Knowledge of superannuation administration systems
- Experience with Visio, Confluence or similar process documentation tools
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate brings a rare combination of deep life insurance domain expertise and hands-on technical delivery experience. This is not a generic IT role - the application handles regulated insurance cover decisions, and the contractor must understand the business context, not just the technology.

- Candidates from an insurance operations or product background who have transitioned into technology delivery
