Role: Oracle Database Administrators

Location: ACT (Applicants from other states can apply - requirement of frequent travel to ACT is involved)
Contract length - 24 months
Contract Extension: 12 months renewal

Overview:

Our large Federal Government client are seeking for an Oracle Database Administrator.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Perform software systems deployments, integration, and systems maintenance of IT services;
  • Under direction:
    • Write stored procedures, packages, triggers & functions to perform complex functions
    • Provide technical support multiple databases on the Exadata platform.
    • Install and configure Oracle Database / Grid Infrastructure
    • Upgrade Oracle databases to recommended versions
    • Backup and restore using RMAN and using the Export / Import utility
    • Oracle Cloud Control
      • Monitor and administer database
      • Creating jobs
      • Discovering / Configuring targets
    • Troubleshoot complex problems
    • Work effectively in a small team environment;
    • Provide knowledge/skills transfer to other team members; and
    • Record and maintain files/information in accordance with their requirements.

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience with Database migrations and upgrades from Oracle 11g to 19c
  • Experience in administering Oracle databases in both Oracle Linux and Windows environments

Selection Criteria:

1. Relevant experience

Demonstrated relevant experience (and past performance) in delivering the same or similar goods and/or services.

    • Oracle Certification in Database Administration
    • Experience in administering Oracle databases in both Oracle Linux and Windows environments
    • Provide examples of previous work with Oracle Database migrations and upgrade

2. Ability to deliver

Availability of required goods or services, committed available resources (including specified persons, contractors or consultants), and/or demonstrated ability to deliver within required timeframes to an acceptable quality standard.

    • Self-motivated,
    • able to use initiative,
    • innovative and a strong commitment to achieve business objectives,
    • ability to work within a Change Management model

3. Solution

    • Ability to adhere to their standards and practices
    • Ability to gain and maintain necessary clearance.

4. Flexibility and innovation

    • Supplier's ability provides replacement personnel when required
    • Supplier's ability to provide expert advice and support to identified personnel

5. Sustainability

    • Proposal to include hourly rates payable for each identified resource including Supplier Fee Breakdown provided in table
    • Demonstrate how resources will maintain contemporary knowledge of relevant policies and practices
    • Demonstrate how resources will maintain contemporary knowledge of IT commercial environment
