Role: Learning and Development Officer (Equivalent to APS4)

Location: Parkes, Canberra (5 days working)

Contract: 6 months with the possibility of extension for 6 months

Clearance: Minimum Baseline

About the role:

Our esteemed Government client is on the hunt for a proven L&D Admin support officer for a contract opportunity in Canberra.
You will be working with a program manager or business coordinator / course administrators:

  • Build client networks and establish professional working relationships internally and externally
  • Professionally manage enquires from (but not limited to) participants (APS, EL and SES levels) Executive Assistants, agency contacts, guest speakers and program facilitators
  • Identify and initiate improvements to internal business processes within the team to achieve increased effectiveness.
  • Use a Learning Management system ( APS Learn) for the end-to-end management of learning courses, including: scheduling workshops, booking facilitators and guest speakers, communicating with participants, guest speakers and if required, venues
  • Monitor course registrations and report progress
  • Manage course materials and logistics
  • Manage the communication and marketing information for the promotion of courses
  • Work productively with others to support capability initiatives that are responsive, agile and focussed on quality outcomes.
  • Perform other administrative duties as required to support the Leadership and Capability Group
  • Promote and demonstrate transparency, accountability, ethics and integrity.

    To be successful in the role you MUST have:
  • minimum Baseline Clearance
  • have a passion for building the capability of the APS
  • the ability to prioritise and manage changing needs to suit a fast-paced working environment
  • excellent client / stakeholder engagement skills
  • the ability to work effectively in a team
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • familiarity with learning and development in the APS
  • a willingness to learn and develop a career in the APS
