Systems Administrator (Contract 6 Months)
Full time | VPS 4 equivalent | Melbourne CBD location
We are partnering with a highly regarded public sector organisation to recruit an experienced ICT Systems Administrator to join a collaborative and high performing technology team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and improving critical ICT systems, while contributing to meaningful, purpose driven work in a complex and dynamic environment.
The role
You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security and performance of core ICT systems, while acting as an escalation point for technical issues and contributing to ongoing infrastructure improvements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing Level 3 support across core systems and acting as an escalation point
- Supporting and maintaining Microsoft 365, Azure and Windows Server environments
- Managing virtualised infrastructure and system backups and recovery processes
- Contributing to infrastructure projects and system enhancements
- Supporting endpoint management tools such as Intune and SCCM
- Maintaining security, compliance and best practice standards
- Coaching and supporting junior team members and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
About you
You are a proactive and technically strong Systems Administrator with a passion for problem solving and continuous improvement.
You will bring:
- Proven experience in a similar Systems Administrator or senior support role
- Strong experience across Microsoft technologies including Azure AD, M365, Exchange Online and Active Directory
- Exposure to virtualisation platforms and tools such as VMware and Veeam
- Experience with Intune, SCCM and monitoring tools
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP
- Awareness of security frameworks and best practices
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams
Experience working in a professional services or regulated environment will be highly regarded.
