This large Government agency requires an experienced Oracle Senior Database Administrator to join their team for 12-months with the option to extend further. You will work as directed on specific project requirements across the team.
You will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:
- Install/ Upgrade and configure Oracle database (9i9i to 19c19c)
- Perform minor and major upgrades of FMWFMW technical components and technology
- Require occasional non-standard/out of business hours maintenance to resolve issues and implement system changes in order to minimizeminimize downtime for end users.
- Support daily operations of production and non-production environments
- Work as project DBADBA/technical administrator
- Setup and manage High availability solution for technology layers
- Applying regular security patches (PSUsPSUs/CPUsCPUs)
- Completing environments refreshes of lower environments on periodic basis
- Troubleshooting application and database related issues
- Completing applications and databases restarts during maintenances
- maintenancesReview and troubleshooting SQL SQLqueries and recommendations for performance enhancement.
- Resolving security vulnerabilities associated with the applications/databases
- Completing annual disaster recovery test for the applications/databases
- Expert in SQL SQLperformance analysis and tuning
- Review user/systems support issues and perform or lead root cause analysis and provide working solutions.
- Troubleshooting - investigate and identify problem root causes. Research and put in place appropriate solutions for rectifying problems and prevent reoccurrence.reoccurrence Compile incident reports as necessary.
- Take the initiative and proactively identify and suggest/implement solutions to problems before they become systems performance impacting issues.
- Manage Database configurations including installing and upgrading software and maintaining relevant documentation. Perform database and resource usage monitoring activities to facilitate capacity planning. Monitor database activity, table space, performance/resource usage and capacity (Database Administration).
- Undertake releases of the system, as well as installation. Implement change control for platform and application updates from non-production to production environments.
- Develop and test disaster recovery plans for application servers and middleware.middleware
- Write shell scripts to automate repetitive tasks as required.
- Interface with and advise development teams that are creating and consuming Oracle Fusion base web services.
As the successful incumbent you will possess:
- 5+ years of ORACLE database administration experience
- 5+ years' years'experience in UNIX operation (Solaris Solarisand Linux)
- 5+ years of experience working with development teams
- Exposure to ITIL ITIL/ ITSM ITSM/ Managed Services / DevOps DevOps/ SOA SOAoperational models
- Oracle database 9i,9i11g 11gand 19c.19c Proficient with recent Oracle database versions and features.
- Demonstrate knowledge and ability to perform all basic database management and administration skills
- Demonstrate practical understanding of ORACLE database physical structure, overall architecture, and database performance analysis
- Strong background in database planning, scaling, and capacity planning activities
- Strong understanding of software development life-cycles
- Experience deploying and configuring ORACLE Data Guard, ORACLE Enterprise Manager, ORACLE ACFS,ACFS ORACLE Golden Gate, and ORACLE Recovery Manager(RMAN)RMAN
